Practicing Prayer

Practicing Prayer is a gathering for those interested in deepening their friendship with God. We explore contemplative traditions and practices grounded in our earliest Christian history, as well as those in other religions. These practices, collectively known as Wisdom practices, are common to the inner spiritual life of many traditions. They provide a lived experience, a journey undertaken to open to God’s presence within.

Each week we begin with 20 minutes of silent prayer followed by group discussion. Currently we are exploring scripture with Lectio Divina, reading translations with insights from Aramaic provided by Neil Douglas Klotz. We have at times explored poetry with Lectio Divina, and read books together.

We meet every Sunday at 5:00 pm via Zoom. If you would like to receive a Zoom link or know more, please contact Catherine Crews at catherine.crews@icloud.com, 479-264-4346.
