First Thursday Book Talks at All Saints’
This group meets on the first Thursday of each month to discuss a book by or about marginalized persons like those Jesus sought out during his ministry. The purpose of the reading and discussion is to remind ourselves that marginalized persons are all around us, and to help us understand and empathize with their struggles. Further, we attempt to engage with our brothers and sisters who are marginalized in order to be of service. The books we read are both fiction and non-fiction, and they focus on people living in America in the 21st century, lest we be tempted to consider that marginalization happens only far away or long ago. Anyone who is interested in this study and likes to read is invited to call or text Elizabeth Franks 479-264-0336.
