Blue Christmas

December 22 at 5 pm

Central Presbyterian Church
400 W Main St - Russellville

Christmas is a time when loneliness and grief can become more pronounced. We think of those we love but see no longer, and of other losses as well – the loss of a job, a dream, or a relationship. What do we do with these sad places in our hearts during the joyful Christmas season?

This service, called Blue Christmas, will emphasize the pain and loss felt by many at this time of year, and offer a somber, gentle space to gather.

Join us for a small reception offered by all three churches at 5pm followed by a contemplative service at 5:30 pm led by Central Presbyterian Pastor Brian Brock and from First United Methodist Church the Rev. Lauren DeLano.

All are welcome to our Family Service at 5:30 pm. Hot Chocolate and cookies will be served with a special visit from the saint, St. Nicholas.

Then all are welcome at 10pm for carols and then at 10:30 pm we will have Midnight Mass as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
