Lent 2019

All are invited to All Saints’ for a service inviting you to observe a holy Lent and for the imposition of ashes at either 12 pm or 6:30 pm on Wednesday, March 6th. Following a resolution that was passed at the 147th Annual Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Arkansas, (see full resolution below) all are invited to a day of fasting and repentance in honor of and to stand in solidarity with the victims of gender-based discrimination, harassment, and violence on Ash Wednesday.

All Saints’ Episcopal Church
Join us as we quietly explore and reflect on God’s presence in our lives and in the world around us. Our self-guided retreat will include lunch, worship, time for quiet reflection, a variety of prayer stations and prayer forms, and an opportunity to walk the labyrinth. Please contact Sherrie Cotton, Julie Hodges or Rhonda Hlass if you have any questions. There is no charge for the retreat, however we request that you preregister in the office so that we are able to provide lunch for everyone. We hope you will make time for the opportunity for renewal and refreshment.

Way of Love in Lent
The journey through Lent into Easter is a journey with Jesus. We are baptized into his life, self-giving, and death; then, we rise in hope to life transformed. This Lent, All Saints’ is invited to walk with Jesus in his Way of Love and into the experience of transformed life. The way of love is a program form the larger Episcopal Church. Together, we will reflect anew on the loving actions of God as recounted in the Easter Vigil readings as we reflect on how they tie to the seven practices of the Way of Love (Turn, Pray, Learn, Bless, Rest, Worship, Go). Together, we will walk through the depths of salvation history into the fullness of redemption. Join us on this journey through Lent on Wednesday evenings, starting March 13th, at 5 pm for discussion and a simple dinner of bread and soup. To contribute soup, sign up on the bulletin board in Shoemaker.
